Days 7 and 8; Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 14 and 15

This Monday after returning from our first excursion to Monteverde we began the day with Spanish class at the university. Afterwards we had a group meeting regarding the schedule for the rest of the trip and the blog entries that we had to write for the LPI website. However, we finished earlier than expected, so we went bowling for the rest of the afternoon. It was a much needed energy release after our long day at school! We then returned to our houses and had dinner with our families.

Today we had classes in the morning as usual and then went shopping at the mall across the street from our school after lunch. We then had an art class at the university in which we painted a black ceramic plate with an art design used in the wheels of ox-carts. This design is a blend from Ukrainian folk art, as well as traditional Costa Rican art. We all worked very hard on our plates and they all turned out beautifully! The past two evenings have been pretty laid back and relaxing here in Costa Rica, but we definitely needed some down time after our jam packed weekend!
